Problem solved. Go there NOW!
Free upgrades, free, year round support, and it is based on Red Hat and built for schools. The only things it lacks are library automation and a good student info mgmt. package, which can be added freely. (Find that stuff here: http://linux.school-library.net ) They can even support updates without shelling out for RHN.
And we don't need no stinking licenses!
